About Me
I have over 10 years of experience studying and practicing in the field of mental health. I earned my BA in Psychology from University of San Francisco, my Masters of Social Welfare (MSW) from UCLA, am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California, and hold a certification in perinatal mental health (PMH-C). Prior to opening my private practice, I worked in several healthcare settings, including in a newborn and infant critical care unit (NICCU). This provided me a wealth of experience counseling new parents, walking with people through end of life care and experiences of trauma, loss and grief, as well as supporting individuals and couples through major life and identity shifts. This was deeply meaningful and formative work and has solidified my dedication to working with individuals and couples navigating all phases of the perinatal period regardless of what that journey looks like. In addition to this work, many of my clients come to me seeking to process past or ongoing trauma, anxiety, grief, and loss. Many also want to process and discuss the everyday stresses (work, relationships, self-esteem) that come with being human.
I come to this work with values rooted in social justice, the importance of human relationships, and the dignity and worth of every person. I believe that our wellness as humans does not solely derive from our personal experiences, but that intergenerational stories, social injustice, societal inequities, and systemic oppression inflict trauma that impact our self-concept, interpersonal relationships, and our life perspective.
